Lefoam Vet Suspension - Simethicone

Lefoam Vet Suspension is a veterinary medicine of the generic group of Simethicone and the therapeutic Group of Lefoam Vet Suspension is  Gastro-Intestinal Disorders. The manufacturer of this veterinary medicine is Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited.

Composition

Lefoam Vet Suspension: Each 100 ml suspension contains Simethicone USP 1 gm.

Description

Simethicone is an effective antiflatulent, acts locally in the rumen of the animal by changing the surface tension of small gas bubbles trapped in foam, causing them to coalesce and ultimately pass out. Simethicone increases the exit rate of gas from the digestive tract based on its antiflatulent properties.

Indications

Indicated to all kinds of bloat & tympany.

Simethicone works very rapidly and in cases of severe bloat acts on an emergency basis.

Dosage & Administration

Acute Disease:
1. Cattle/Buffaloes: 100 ml 2 times daily
2. Sheep/Goat: 20 ml 2 times daily
Chronic Disease:
1. Cattle/Buffaloes: 50 ml 2 times daily
2. Sheep/Goat: 10 ml 2 times daily
Administer orally as a drench or intraluminally by using a cannula or a long needle or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.

Side Effects

Simethicone is physiologically inert and no adverse effect has been reported after oral ingestion.

Precautions

More than 12 doses per day should not be used, except for the advice of a registered veterinarian.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Drug Interaction

Antacids reduce the defoaming effects of Simethicone.

Meat & Milk: Not required.

Storage
