Sulfa Forte-4 Injection is an antibiotic drug which is used to treat bacterial infection of the respiratory, alimentary, and urogenital tract of Cattle, Calf, sheep & goat. Sulfa Forte is manufactured by Korean “UNI Biotech Co. Limited” and this veterinary medicine import to Bangladesh the first time by ACI Animal Health. This is one of the powerful Sulfa Injections with less pain.

• Composition

Each ml contains:

Trimethoprim	40 mg
Sulfathiazole	40 mg
Sulfadiazine	60 mg
Sulfamerazine	100 mg
Lidocaine hydrochloride	1 mg

•  Mechanism of action

Trimethoprim - It binds to dihydrofolate reductase enzyme & inhibits the reduction of dihydrofolic acid (DHF) to tetrahydrofolic acid (THF) which is essential for bacterial synthesis. So bacteria can’t survive.

Sulfathiazole - It inhibits microbial growth.

Sulfadiazine - It acts through inhibition of dihydropteroate synthetase. Resistance arises through multiple mutations in this gene.

Sulfamerazine - It inhibits folic acid synthesis by acting as a competitive inhibitor of dihydropteroate synthetase, an enzyme found in the folic acid synthesis pathway.

Lidocaine hydrochloride - It creates the anesthetic effect & preventing pain signals from propagating to the brain, but by stopping them before they begin.

• Indication

Bacterial infection of respiratory, alimentary and urogenital tract: bronchitis, pneumonia, diarrhea, metritis, arthritis, MMA, etc.

• Dosage & Administration

Inject the following dosage intramuscularly or subcutaneously
Intramuscularly injection

Cattle : 7mL per 100kg body weight

Calf, sheep & goat: 4ml per 50kg bodyweight

Weaner: 1ml per 15kg bodyweight

Pack size - 50 ml bottle.

 

• Storage - Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
